QED Performance Audio 40i Interconnect

The Performance Audio 40i takes a genuine technological step beyond the standard Performance Audio interconnect. QED introduces solid complementary conductor technology here, pairing a primary oxygen-free copper conductor with a silver-plated OFC companion of a different diameter. The two conductors carry complementary aspects of the signal, producing a level of noise rejection and signal retention that balanced cables achieve with XLR termination, in a standard phono connection.

A ferrite jacket loaded with 10% Zn/Mn absorbs high-frequency interference above the audible range before it can reach the signal conductors. Dual-layer independent screening provides electromagnetic shielding throughout the cable run. The foamed polyethylene dielectric keeps capacitance low and energy losses minimal. The outcome is an interconnect that is measurably and audibly quieter than standard phono cables, with improved background silence and a corresponding increase in recoverable musical detail.
