The Concept 300 is Q Acoustics’ most technically advanced standmounting loudspeaker, and the most fully realised speaker they have built at this price. It takes the anti-resonance technologies and driver designs developed for the flagship Concept 500 floorstander and applies them to a compact two-way standmount, with the result that this is a speaker that simply has no meaningful competition in its class.
The 165mm long-throw bass driver and 28mm hermetically sealed decoupled tweeter come directly from the Concept 500 driver family. The cabinet uses Dual Gelcore construction alongside P2P Point to Point internal bracing to eliminate resonance and keep the soundstage locked and focused. An isolation base beneath the cabinet, using two plates separated by suspension spheres, decouples it from the stand and from any vibration transferring from it. Bi-wire terminals are included.
The Concept 300 ships as a complete matched system with the Q Acoustics Tensegrity stand. The stand takes its structural principle from tensegrity engineering: tensioned cables under compression deliver the rigidity of a solid column with a fraction of the contact surface between floor and speaker. Almost no floor-borne vibration reaches the speaker, and almost none of the speaker’s energy transfers back into the floor. This is not a generic stand bundled with a speaker as an afterthought. It is a purpose-engineered support system that is integral to how the Concept 300 performs.
Frequency response extends from 55Hz to 30kHz. Nominal impedance is 6 ohms, sensitivity is 84 dB/W/m, and recommended amplifier power is 25 to 200 watts. Supplied as a stereo pair complete with Tensegrity stands.
