The M40 is Q Acoustics' flagship wireless music system, built into a micro-tower cabinet that stands just 71cm tall. It is the most capable all-in-one powered speaker system in the Q Acoustics line-up, delivering the scale and authority of a proper floorstander without needing a separate amplifier, streamer or any additional boxes.
Power comes from twin 125mm C3 Continuous Curved Cone mid/bass drivers, a design first introduced in the 5000 series of passive speakers. These sit alongside a 22mm decoupled tweeter in a rear-ported cabinet braced with P2P Point to Point technology and equipped with HPE Helmholtz Pressure Equalizer tubes to suppress standing waves. Total output is 2 x 100 watts peak, 2 x 50 watts RMS into 4 ohms, enough for any normal listening room.
Connectivity covers everything you are likely to need. Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD and aptX Low Latency handles wireless streaming from phones, tablets and computers. Optical TOSLINK accepts a TV or CD player signal at up to 24bit/192kHz. USB Type B handles a direct computer connection at the same resolution. Two phono analogue inputs and a 3.5mm aux input round out the wired options, and there is a subwoofer pre-out for those who want extra bass extension later.
Frequency response runs from 38Hz to 22kHz. Available in Black, Walnut or White.
