Pro-Ject Pick It MC9 Moving Coil Cartridge

The Pick It MC9 is Pro-Ject’s flagship MC cartridge, designed to deliver exceptional resolution, wide frequency response, and dynamic authority. Manufactured in collaboration with Ortofon, it features a nude fine line stylus for superior groove contact, enhanced high-frequency reproduction, and minimal distortion.

Built with a boron cantilever, the MC9 offers reduced effective mass and greater stiffness compared to aluminium, resulting in increased accuracy and faster stylus movement. With a 0.35 mV output, it requires a high-quality MC phono stage with around 60–65 dB of gain and 100Ω loading.

Tonally, the MC9 leans toward neutrality with excellent transparency, tight bass, and crystalline treble. It’s ideal for vinyl enthusiasts with resolving systems who want to extract every ounce of performance from their records.
