The 5000 series is where the C3 Continuous Curved Cone mid/bass driver made its debut, and it's a genuine leap forward. The single continuous curve profile combines the bass performance of a straight cone with the midrange control of a flared one, while substantial magnets and large voice coils deliver a 50 percent increase in power handling over a comparable driver. Here a 110mm version is paired with a 25mm floating tweeter, hermetically sealed and isolated from the baffle for low distortion.
The cabinet borrows construction technology from Q Acoustics' acclaimed Concept range, including P2P (Point to Point) bracing for an exceptionally rigid enclosure and a tightly focused stereo image. The baffle is laminated with butyl rubber and black acrylic trim to suppress vibration.
Frequency response covers 56Hz to 30kHz, with a 6 ohm nominal impedance and 86.3dB sensitivity. Pair it with 15 to 90 watts per channel.
