The Concept 500 is the top-of-the-range Q Acoustics floorstander, built to take on speakers costing considerably more. It is a large, three-way loudspeaker that draws on every advanced cabinet and driver technology Q Acoustics has developed, and the result is a speaker that reproduces music with a precision and sense of scale that is genuinely hard to fault at anywhere near the price.
Twin 165mm long-throw bass drivers deliver deep, controlled low-frequency performance, paired with a 28mm hermetically sealed and decoupled high-frequency unit. The crossover is optimised to minimise distortion through the critical midband. The cabinet is built to an exceptionally high standard: Dual Gelcore construction, P2P Point to Point internal bracing and HPE Helmholtz Pressure Equalizer tube technology all work together to kill resonance before it can colour the sound.
An isolation base beneath the cabinet uses two plates separated by suspension spheres to mechanically decouple the speaker from the floor, reducing energy transfer in both directions. The result is a clean, transparent presentation that does not trade accuracy for excitement. Bi-wire terminals allow for refined cabling arrangements. Frequency response extends from 41Hz to 30kHz, nominal impedance is 6 ohms, and sensitivity is 90 dB/W/m.
The finish is Italian real wood veneer paired with multiple layers of premium gloss lacquer. Available in Black/Rosewood or White/Light Oak.
